Geomorphologic Analysis of the Javoří Hory Mountains Relief
نویسنده
چکیده
Javoří hory Mountains is a part of Intra Sudetic Basin that belongs to the Permian-Carboniferous section of the Bohemian Massif, whose geological evolution was strongly influenced by volcanic activity. In the Pleistocene epoch cryogenic processes modeled the mountains significantly (frost cliffs, gelifluction streams), which resulted, in connection to the slope orientations, in substantial mountainside asymmetry, mainly as regards the slope. The current processes include fluvial processes (backward erosion in head water areas, development of ravines), mass processes and antropogenic activity, which was, however, limited in the beginning of the 90ies of the 20th century because Javoří hory Mountains were incorporated into the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area.

The paper presents the results of a study on tree regeneration of forest stands in the Černý důl Nature Reserve, which is situated in the Orlické hory Mountains Protected Landscape area in the Czech Republic. Research was conducted in a spruce-beech stand with an admixture of silver fir, sycamore maple and rowan on two comparative permanent research plots (PRPs) (PRP 1—fenced enclosure and PRP ...
متن کاملCenozoic range-front faulting and development of the Transantarctic Mountains near Cape Surprise, Antarctica: Thermochronologic and geomorphologic constraints
[1] The Transantarctic Mountains (TAM) define the western flank of the West Antarctic rift system. Cape Surprise, near the Shackleton Glacier in the central TAM, is the only location along the range’s >3500 km length where upper Paleozoic Beacon Supergroup strata are down-faulted to near sea level. Previous studies have inferred a range front master normal fault accommodates extension and rock ...
متن کاملA Study on the Extraction of Multi-factor Influencing Floods from Rs Image and Gis Data; a Case Study in Nackdong Basin, S.korea
The climate changes will be much more significant over the next 100 years and may lead to the heavy rainfall event. The heavy rainfall causes the flood hazard in the lowlands and geologic hazard in the mountains. Floods are also related to the changes in social economic conditions and land use. Recently, floods have been increasing due to rapid urbanization and human activity in the lowlands. T...
